whats going on!

after the catalog was completed i decided to have a look at the stacks and see whats missing and what can be replaced. this will take awhile and the library will be not be accessible during this time, in the new year the library will be ready again for browsing and signing out.
please return all titles that you may have laying around, even if you haven't signed them out please return them so i can get a good look at what is missing and what needs replacement.

Catalog is Done!

woot woot i have finished the catalog, now i just have to figure out what to do with it. make a zine out of it i guess! heh.
There are over 550 titles in the library. I am going to start going though the library to see what is missing, i know a few things have grown legs....:(

HUGE DONATION

huge donation was left at the zine library today, whoa! i don't know who left all this wonderful stuff, I've got it all in the data base, so it is now ready for lending.
there are some super awesome things in this pile of goodies:

Zine Workshop! What!

Tuesday June 23 to be exact, 6-9pm at careerwrox (23 Main Street East) there will be some talking a bunch at the beginning to get things going. some zine history and a little info on zine culture, then the fun begins. Supplies will be supplied and photocopier will be available..
oh fuck yeah there will be!
everyone will set to work to create a mini zine about a topic of yer choosing, there will be a type writer , computers ,glue, tape, markers, ink, paper, clip art, magazines for you steal from, and a veteran zinester to pick the brain of.bring yer ideas and put yer fun pants on.!!

The book fair was a success!

I have picked up a few supper rad titles for all to read, including Lickity Split number 7

oh yeah!

The library has now taken over two shelves at the sky dragon and is growing everyday.

i will be doing around of zine workshops soon, may be I'll see you at one!

also a load radical southern ontario of zines where picked up at the montreal bookfair this year, come out and check them out!

Sheridan Zine Library

attended Sheridan's first annual gettazine small press fair, i got a butt load of donations haven't had a chance to catalog them or even read them yet, but it looks like there are a lot of cool art zines!

also got a chance to visit the sheridan zine library... she is young but is turning many on the world of zines.

and i got to chat with a few librarians from the Toronto zine library, i'll be visiting them soon!
