With this postie lock out my excitement about acquiring new zines has become non existent. I don't even feel like working on projects, because i can't send them out when i'm done. What makes me feel even worse is that the posties are about to be legislated back to work. and that fucking sucks. Some good news! GRCGED is getting new computers which means that soon the archive will be cataloged which means titles can be taken out! wooot woot! Sometime in Sept you will be able to take zines out of the library! geeze its almost been a year.

New Zines and Bookfair hangouts

So the Tornonto Bookfair fun, saw lots of folks talked about lots of things. Learned a bunch of stuff and did some good hangouts. The Toronto Bookfair is the First of the year and is a nice warm up for MTL. So this is what I picked up for the Zine Library:

13 Hour Zine Challenge

Wow
we had a blast at the Zine Dream Fever Queen! 13 hours of zine making movie watching, snack eating, and hanging out! About 20 folks attended. And we will be doing it again. I admit I didn't stay up all night.... but i did make a zine!
A little movie was even made have a look! ants off the page

Finally!

We are moved! with the help of a few loverly humans (thanks Barry and Tibbles) we moved in to GRCGED last week and we haven't had the chance to get cataloged in the lending system at GRCGED. Feel free to browse the zine collection while visiting us but unfortunately we cannot lend them externally yet.

Hey Hey Hey, Don't worry yer pretty little head, you are in the right place. Hamilton Zine Library has had a location and name change to The Arrow Archive in Guelph. We are under going a few changes so hang tight and we will get our shit back together soon! and we have a new email! woot woot! Who loves the cyber paper trail!

and for you who are new: Arrow Archive originally opened in The Steel City (Hamilton, Ontario) as The Hamilton Zine Library. HZL opened in fall 2007 at the Sky Dragon Center based on a small personal collection. The HZL made a reluctant but needed move in fall 2010. The Arrow Archive now lives and thrives in Guelph, Ontario. The Arrow has now grown to over 900 titles and is still growing.
